The State of World Population 2018
The United Nations Population Fund has released a 156 page report focused on progress made and work yet to be done to allow women to achieve socio-economic opportunities and autonomy in fertility preference.
You can read the Foreword in the following link which also includes a link to the full report http://www.findem.com.au/news/THE_STATE_OF_WORLD_POPULATION_2018_Foreword.pdf
In the Foreword, Dr. Natalia Kanem, the Executive Director of the Fund, notes as follows:
"No country can yet claim to have made reproductive rights a reality for all. Choices are limited for far too many women. And this means that there are still millions of people who are having more—or fewer—children than they would like, with implications not only for individuals, but also for communities, institutions, economies, labour markets and entire nations."
