Household Saving Negative
Some signs of the debt binge ending are apparent with the release of September quarter national accounts. Household savings are still negative but less so (-1.9%). This all sounds a bit of a paradox doesn't it. It's like when you use your keycard at the shop to "spend" money on consumption and they ask you which account saying "savings?". Also released yesterday was the ABS house price series for September quarter showing price falls in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Hobart.
