Big Country House Prices
Showing the diversity of this big country Australia, changes in house prices over the past year show big differences between the capital cities. Based on latest figures released yesterday by REIA, Perth prices have risen 22.5% over the past year while Brisbane prices have fallen 11.4% (a differential of 34%). In absolute terms Sydney remains top price at a median of $495,000 while Hobart is lowest at $260,000 (but after a big catch up with highest 3 yr increase of 24.3%pa).
FinDem has now added state capital prices in the data series in Research Centre along with Australian average prices.
