Average Wages up 6.2%
A bit later than normal, we have finally caught up with the Australian average wages (AWOTE) for September quarter of 2005 and updated Research Data Series. The increase for the quarter was 1.3% and 6.2% for the year. Average wages were $1022 per week or $53,144pa. Based on House prices (also for September quarter) the ratio of House prices in capital cities to Australian average annual wages are as follows:
*Sydney - 9.8
*Melbourne - 6.8
*Brisbane - 5.8
*Adelaide - 5.1
*Perth - 5.8
*Canberra - 6.6
*Hobart - 5.0
*Darwin - 5.6
