Unlucky Thirteenth Quarter?
Our news article on 14th April noted the 12 consequitive positive quarters in a row to 31 March for the Australian All Ordinaries Price index and how this had not happened since December 1900. Well that 13th consequitive positive quarter looks shaky with the correction in stock markets around the world these past two weeks. However because there was a strong run in the Australian market after 31 March up to early May, we still only need a 1.5% gain between now and 30 June for the 13th quarter to be positive. People who have diversified investments matched to their investment time horizon don't need to lie awake worrying about such things.
