Wages up Only 0.7%
In a time when the central bank and government are twitchy about inflation and labour shortages, Australian wage rises (in the private sector) remain benign with September quarter Ordinary Time Earnings up only 0.7%. The 12 month rise is 2.8%pa. The government sector however remains well ahead of private sector wage rises with a September quarter rise of 0.9% and 12 month rise of 4.6%.
