2 Americans equal 200 Aussies

Forbes magazine has just released it's list of 400 wealthiest Americans. The top two are Bill Gates and Warren Buffet (as they were last year). Their total wealth is $129 billion in $A which just equals the total of the top 200 Australians' wealth in the 2007 BRW Rich List.

Sources of wealth for the top 20 Americans include the following:

* Computers and Internet (Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Sergey Bin and Larry Page, Michael Dell and Steve Balmer)

* Insurance (Warren Buffett)

* Casinos (Sheldon Adelson, Kirk Kerklorian)

* Oil (Charles and David Koch)

* Retail Stores(Jim, Robert, Alice and Christy Walton)

* Chocolate (Forrest, Jacqueline and John Mars)

* Finance (Carl Ichan, Abigail Johnson)
