Same-Sex-Marriage

The logical resolution of the same sex marriage issue is to add a new definition which is exactly this ? ?Same-Sex-Marriage?. It?s different to ?Marriage?. And similarly we would have ?Same-Sex-Defacto? relationship and ?Defacto Relationship?.

As a demographer and actuary and long tome studier of the contingencies of life, I expect when we have enough consistent data to study it, we will find that the following significant determinants of population growth and household formation will be significantly different for Marriage and Same-Sex-Marriage:

* Fertility rates by age

* Union commencement by age

* Household formation by age

* Family size by age

In the 2011 Australian Census, the definition of ?Same-Sex-Marriage? was introduced no doubt with this very purpose in mind. http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/lookup/2071.0main+features852012-2013

Purely from a logic point of view without any reference to religious practice or definitions, I see no reason why demographers and personal users of a conventional term ?Marriage? should have their attachment to it redefined. It would be like saying people who have adopted classification as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, will have people of Chinese extraction included in this definition in future.
