We must Catch up THIS year!
Baby Boomers probably carry the Christmas Cards list tradition longer than most other living generations. So often the brief note might read "Where has the year gone? We must catch up soon."
Well soon is going to have to be "...like Now!" if they don't want to regret missing one last opportunity to catch up. Chances are that next year one of the couple partners will have passed away. The following year three partners may have lost a mate. Time to make a phone call and catch up next week!
